Commercially, pure Hydrochloric Acid must be obtained by direct synthesis between Chlorine-Gas and Hydrogen.
Both these gases are produced in the Chlor-Alkali electrolysis process.
The synthesis takes place in a special burning furnace, conveniently cooled by means of water.
The gaseous Hydrochloric Acid obtained is then absorbed into demineralized water producing a 33 - 35% acid practically Iron-free.
The SESPI's KNOW-HOW for these units includes the tight control of the systhesis furnace, which is the heart of the process, and all the safety measures required by the handling of noxious and/or flammable gases.
Plant materials are specially selected in order to overcome the high corrosive aspect of the fluids handled.
